Hair and Fashion Trends
The 1980’s
For most of the 1980s, hair mostly consisted of Mohawks, mullets, and a few others that we look hack now and wonder why everyone had the styles that the did. Hair and Fashion Trends highlighted and praised the ideas of having high volume hair. The more hair you had and the more volume it took up, the better. Essentially anything that used lots of chemicals to do was great and meant that you had the freshest cut.
The 1990’s
In the 1990s, hair and fashion trends changed up a bit. As with many other popular trends, they are typically idolized after popular people, otherwise known as celebrities. The ability for a famous person to start a new trend was and is far greater than the ability for the average joe to do so. 90’s hair and fashion trends were a bit more calm than the 80’s, but still saw people doing things that might be considered weird or odd in today’s world. Things like braids, ponytails and other hair accessories were very popular. Allowing there to be a wide variety of options to do with your hair.
The 2000’s Hair and Fashion Trends
As we make our way into the 21st century, we find the women’s hairstyles to have calmed down a lot. Many woman were basing their styles off of celebrities such as Avril Levine and Hillary Duff. Of course, we still have those few people with crazy and odd styles, but the hair and fashion trends for the 2000’s seemed to really mellow out.
What’s Coming for Hair and Fashion Trends?
What’s in store for the future of woman’s and men hairstyle? We wish we knew. If we had to guess though, we would believe it will be a mix between relaxed and calm styles with a bit of craziness to it. As we have seen recently, many celebrities are going in a bold direction with not only their hair but also their fashion and style. Everyone is looking for ways to be different and we’re really starting to see that.
As with hair and fashion trends, it is difficult to predict what will come about and when.
Why is Hair and Fashion so Important?
Our hair style is a vital expression of our personalities and our lives. Perhaps what we do with our hair says something about who we are, and about the values we continue to hold. As societal worship of the ‘ perfect woman ‘ evolves, more and more women are feeling free to express themselves. Some would say that this is a shame, but numbers do not tell the whole story. Though it may be difficult to see the women in our lives who are not truly happy with their hair, we can look at ourselves and feel the change we are feeling.
