Q: What exactly does a Kerastase ‘diagnosis’ involve?
A: It starts with a sit down chat to pinpoint the client’s main hair concerns, and find out how they feel about their hair overall. We then use the Kerastase diagnostic camera to look at their hair and scalp up close, which feeds through to an iPad screen so that the client can watch. Based on what we see, we prescribe a customised take home hair care routine to target any concerns. If needed, sometimes we will also recommend an in-salon treatment program.

If left untreated, scalp issues can lead to things like hair loss, dullness and premature ageing of the hair follicle. Most of the time, you won’t see the ‘root’ cause of the problems you notice with your hair without looking at your scalp under the microscope! Getting a properly prescribed routine will help to catch any issues early, keep your scalp balanced and your hair looking and feeling healthy.

A: The Kerastase diagnostic camera looks at your hair and scalp up close – it actually magnifies by up to 500 times! By doing this, we can see things like sensitivity, dandruff, dryness, oiliness, the density of your hair, and damage that you often can’t see with the naked eye.
